On
Friday, 25th September, coinciding with European Language Day, the Colegio
Alameda de Osuna held the Cambridge Diploma Ceremony. All the pupils who sat
the different levels of exams provided by the University of Cambridge were
presented with their certificates by their teachers, along with a letter of
congratulations from the heads of the school and a white carnation, as has
become traditional in the event in the past years.
In
June, 33 pupils from Secondary sat the KET and PET exams on the 6th,
and the following weekend 112 pupils from Primary sat the Young Learners exams
(Starters, Movers and Flyers) while six students from Secondary sat the First
Certificate exam. All of these exams were organised in the Colegio Alameda de
Osuna, which serves as a centre for the main Cambridge exams here in Madrid
(KET, PET and First) – in total almost 200 people from several schools were
examined for KET and PET and over 70 for the First Certificate in the Colegio
Alameda de Osuna this year.
It
is very satisfying to see the number of pupils who take these exams growing
each year, and also to see that the pass rate is still extremely high – 100% in
the case of the Primary exams and this year 87% in the Secondary exams. This is
a clear indication of the hard work and dedication of the teachers of the
English Department both in Primary and Secondary. As Head of the Department, I
would like to say publicly a very big thank you to thee teachers and
congratulations to all the pupils who took part.

El viernes 25 de septiembre, coincidiendo con el Día
Europeo de los Idiomas, se celebró la Ceremonia de Entrega de Diplomas de los
exámenes de Cambridge. Todos los alumnos que se presentaron a los distintos
niveles de exámenes organizados por la Universidad de Cambridge recibieron sus
diplomas de sus profesores, junto con una carta de felicitación de parte de la
Dirección del Centro y un clavel blanco, lo cual se está convirtiendo en tradición
en los últimos años.
En junio,
33 alumnos de Secundaria se presentaron a los exámenes de KET y PET el día 6, y
el siguiente fin de semana 112 alumnos de Primaria se presentaron a los
exámenes de Young Learners (Starters, Movers y Flyers), mientras que seis
alumnos de Secundaria se presentaron al examen de First Certificate. Todos
estas pruebas se organizaron en el propio Colegio Alamda de Osuna, que sirve
como centro colector de los principales exámenes de Cambridge (KET, PET y
First) – en total casi 200 personas de varios colegios de Madrid se presentaron
al KET y PET y más de 70 al First en el Colegio este año.
Es muy
grato ver que se aumenta el número de alumnos que se presentan a estos exámenes
cada año, y también ver que el porcentaje de aprobados sigue siendo muy alto –
100% en el caso de los exámenes de Primaria y este año un 87% en los exámenes
de Secundaria. Esto es una indicación muy clara del nivel de esfuerzo y
dedicación de los profesores del Departamento de Inglés tanto en Primaria como en
Secundaria. Como Jefe de Departamento, quiseira agradecerles públicamente a
estos profesores toda su dedicación, y a todos los alumnos que participaron
darles la más sincera enhorabuena.
